Will coconut carbon remove chlorine taste and smell from water?
Yes. Coconut carbon is activated carbon media used to reduce chlorine, unpleasant tastes and odours from water.
Does coconut carbon remove sediment from water?
Coconut carbon is designed mainly for adsorption, rather than removing large sediment. A suitable sediment pre-filter should be used where water contains dirt, sand or other particles.
Can coconut carbon soften hard water?
No. Coconut carbon does not remove hardness minerals such as calcium and magnesium. A water softener media is needed where hard-water scale is the issue.
How often does coconut carbon need replacing?
Replacement depends on water quality, flow rate and total water use. If chlorine taste or odour returns, or the media reaches its service capacity, it should be replaced. Contact us for help sizing the media and estimating replacement intervals.
